This article draws your attention toward a popular research, which found some prominent yet beneficial benefits for all of us.

American Research and It’s findings

According to American Diabetes Association, Richard A Anderson and Alam Khan are two researchers who came forward to conduct a Pakistani-American study about effect of Ceylon Cinnamon to control cholesterol levels in the human body. The study was focused to determine whether cinnamon improves total cholesterol, bad cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels in people with type-2 diabetes.

To make it more easy, a total of 60 people suffering with type-2 diabetes were divided into six groups. Men and women were equally in numbers. Now, Groups 1,2 and 3 consumed 1,3 and 6g of Ceylon Cinnamon on daily basis whereas group 4,5 and 6 were asked to take placebo capsules. The Ceylon Cinnamon was meant to be taken for a period of 40 days. However, 20 days was considered as the washout period.

After consumption of cinnamon for 40 days, all three groups reduced the mean fasting serum glucose(18-29%), triglyceride(23-30%), LDL Cholesterol (7-27%) and total cholesterol(12-26%)levels. And HDL cholesterol did not bring important results. To your surprise, placebo groups noticed no such significant results at all.  The consumption of 1, 3 or 6g of Ceylon Cinnamon in the diet actually led to a time-dependent decrease in triglyceride levels. Importantly, the study also suggested that intake of 1g cinnamon is likely to be more beneficial in controlling lipid levels and blood glucose levels. This research is a tremendous improvement to make people aware about the benefits of Ceylon Cinnamon.

After getting familiar with the incredible benefits of cinnamon, it is essential to understand, how much Ceylon True Cinnamon should be consumed to lower cholesterol levels?

However, there are still no strong evidence for intake of exact amount of cinnamon, but it is suggested to be used in moderate quantity. It is better to go for the least quantity i.e 1g of cinnamon.

As Researcher Richard Anderson of Beltsville Human Nutrient Research Center indicated that cinnamon intake can be toxic in high amounts.
